Formulation of the Business Model of the Conch Shell Industry in Tanjung Balai: A Comparative Study of Small and Medium Industries

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the SWOT formulation of the conch shell business industry in Tanjung Balai. Data processing and analysis methods used are factor and discriminant analysis using the Cochran and Kaiser Meyer Olkin Measure of Sampling (KMO) tests. The results of this study are to strengthen the results of the previous year’s research by exploring the potential of marketing strategies and comparisons of each industry. Meanwhile, the qualitative analysis used is the SWOT analysis. The population in this study were industrial craftsmen in Tanjung Balai, amounting to 38 SMI, which were directly sampled using census techniques. The results of this study that almost all respondents said this effort was necessary in the Blue Ocean Strategy formulation. The six Small and Medium Industries have a level of importance that is not the same as in the Blue Ocean strategy formulation. The loading value or correlation value obtained from the results of the orthogonal rotation of the varimax performed on the five competitive factors also result in 2 main components, such as the volume of contents and the contract system for the first component and the ease of raw materials and facilities for the second component.  The situation in Tanjung Balai Small and Medium Industries (SMI) is a situation that describes the red ocean. It can be seen from the value curve of Tanjung Balai SMI which have a tendency to coincide and can be seen from the number of industry players who tend to increase and increase each other’s market share. Besides, each of the Tanjung Balai SMI also has a position as a business that offers excessively without adequate results. It can be seen from the value curve, which has a high factor value, so it shows the business making a substantial investment.

Abstract

Foreign policy indicates the policy of a sovereign state in its interaction with other sovereign state. India is the neighbor country of Bangladesh & Bangladesh is surrounded by India from three sides. So Bangladesh cannot avoid India. From after the liberation war of Bangladesh Indo-Bangladesh relation become develop day by day. Bilateral trade is the result of good foreign policy of Bangladesh with India. In this research paper I discuss about the trade policy of Indo-Bangladesh. For data collection I use some methods & materials, I have collected data from Bangladesh Bank, Export-Import statistics & had been searched websites, Google Scholar, Research Gate. I selected my objective of research -economic policy of Bangladesh with India, find the problems of trade policy & giving a solution by foreign policy. In data of Bangladesh export-import we can see that the import of Bangladesh is more than export. The import items are -all types cotton, organic & chemical products, vehicles, cosmetics & plastic items etc. on the other hand export items of Bangladesh are-home textile, Jute & jute goods, frozen foods etc. From this export items Bangladesh earn millions of dollars as a result we can say Bangladesh foreign policy become develop. After some years it would become a great economic zone for others country.  There are some problems Bangladesh foreign policy with India. They are geographical position, political problems, lacking of experts’ people who make policy, as a poor country Bangladesh affected various treaties. These problems cannot be removed in a day we can reduce these problems by standard of the diplomacy, national resources should be used properly, the trends of party system should be avoided, create a peaceful place & friendly place by foreign policy.

Abstract

The paper used the Panel Vector Autoregression(VAR) and Generalized method of moments (GMM) to view the impact of structural Change in export on economic growth in West Africa. Due to many challenges African export is the lowest compare to other regions in the world. The similarity of the export of many countries in West Africa is responsible for the trend it exhibits. The results of our analysis have shown that the shocks in Export levels have a direct impact on the contemporaneous GDP growth, while the current GDP growth change affects Export only in the future also there is a short run relationship between the GDP, the Export and the Import. The structural change occurs in the Export and the Import is responsible for the change in the GDP growth holding other things constant.

Abstract

Understanding the impact of individual development opportunity and brand name is important for job satisfaction in universities in Vietnam. This paper examines individual development opportunity, brand name and job satisfaction. The study adopts a convenience sampling method to collect data from 800 permanent lecturers in universities Ho Minh Chi City Vietnam. It was observed that individual development opportunity and university brand name have a significant influence on job satisfaction. As a consequence, it is concluded that by recognizing the impact of individual development opportunity and university brand name. The implication of this study is for the university managers which they can enhance the level of job satisfaction among lecturers in Ho Chi Minh in particular and in Vietnam in general.
