Abstract

The seam strength and seam efficiency of 2/1 twill woven fabric has been investigated all through the research where a variety of 20/2, 27, 30, 40, 40/1, 40/2 and 40/3 thread count were applied individually for superimposed, lapped and bound seam respectively. After preparation, each of the samples, brought into the tensile strength test and the breaking strength and efficiency were measured. For each case, seam strength increased with the increase of SPI at a constant thread count. The lowest seam strength and efficiency were achieved for samples sewed with 27Tex sewing thread, and the maximum value was achieved for samples which were stitched by 40/3 count.

Key words: Stitch density, thread count, 2/1 twill fabric, strength and efficiency.

Abstract

Humans are exposed to chromium ions from leather materials owing to everyday contact with different need based activities. The concern is that Cr (VI) is extremely toxic and may cause contact allergic dermatitis on the skin and may also be a trigger for a plethora of diseases, hence it is essential to monitor the presence of chromium as Cr (VI). For the determination of levels of chromium (VI) the shaving dust samples from four different tanneries and chrome liquor, and wet blue leather trimmings from three different tanneries were collected.  The fat content was determined in collected shaving dust and wet blue trimmings with the aid of Soxhlet extraction method using petroleum ether- ethanol solvent. Then the extraction of Cr (VI) from the samples was done following the standard procedure of society for Leather Chemistry with some modification. Afterwards, UV- visible spectrophotometric determination of Cr (VI) was carried out through the complex formation with 1, 5-diphenylcarbazide (DPC).  The weight percentages of fat content were found to be in the range of 2.98-3.71. Analytical grade potassium-dichromate reagent was used as a standard source of Cr (VI) in calibration process. Among the collected four shaving dust samples in three samples were found to contain Cr (VI) in the range of 1.96-2.19 mg/kg. In three analyzed wet blue trimmings samples the Cr (VI) was found to be from 1.59 to 1.86 mg/L.   The amount of hexavalent chromium was found 1.27 mg/L in one chrome liquor sample out of three samples.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze whether fiscal policy affects the fertility of the Provincial Government Indonesia using panel data with time series from 2007 to 2017, a cross-section of 33 Provincial governments in Indonesia. Fertility is measured using Total Fertility Rate (TFR) and Birth Rate. Local revenue, regional expenditure, and regional debt do not affect TFR but the regional deficit negatively does. Regarding the birth rate, regional income and deficits have a positive effect, regional expenditure has a negative effect, but regional debt does not affect birth rates in 33 provincial governments in Indonesia. The equivalent ricardien theory does not apply to this study because households do not assist provincial government policies caused by high fertility. As a result, national TFR is not achieved and will affect sustainable fiscal deficits.

Abstract

This paper has been explored on ‘Proverbs and Narratives: An inherited knowledge system of child and infant rearing and caring in rural cultural Setting’. This study has investigated the pattern of the knowledge system of rearing and caring of infants and young children as focal point of view where their parents and relatives share the knowledge on infants and child care from the oral literature such as proverbs and narratives to procreate infants and child. The modern biomedical and modern knowledge system spread various propagandas by stating folk wisdom as useless and irrelevant in the perspective of modern age of scientific rationality. The global cultural flows of infants and young child care occupy almost every parts of the world through electronic media, western academicians and the medical industry as a whole.  This study has basically started to its journey with the aim of interpreting proverbs and narratives as insightful thoughts of folk wisdom which are holistically applied for the procreation of infants and young children.

Abstract

To address the problems of large overhead and inaccurate judgment for selfish node of the existing selfish node detecting algorithm in opportunistic networks, a high-efficiency and low-overhead algorithm to detect the selfish node HLSND algorithm is proposed. The algorithm combines the SV list interactive information and attributes of the message forwarded by encounter node to judge its selfishness. According to the message attributes forwarded by the node, it can be judged whether it has the selfish behavior of forged the message in SV list. The RSSI technique is used to measure the distance of the nodes to improve the judgment accuracy of self – interest behavior. At the same time, information of selfish node is carried when forward other message to reduce the system overhead. The simulation results show that the HLSND detection algorithm can effectively improve the throughput and message delivery rate in the network and reduce the energy consumption and time delay of the system.
