Antecedents and Consequents of Food Waste Reduction: Do Religious Commitment and Awareness of Consequences Moderate

Abstract

­

This study empirically test the applicability of theory of planned behavior with additional variables of concern for food waste, religious commitment and awareness of consequences towards consumers food waste reduction intentions and afterward leftover foods’ reuse and donate behavior. A sample of 533 respondents were selected mainly from Punjab Pakistan. Data for this study is collected from young Pakistani household consumers. The study employed structure equation modeling (SEM) to test the hypothesized model. The results of the study showed that moral norms, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control and food waste concerns may restricts consumers to avoid food wastage and promote waste reduction intentions. Furthermore the constructs of religious commitment and awareness of consequences by creating their moderating affect further strengthen this relationships. The results of the study establish that there is need to include favorable perception about benefits, cost, threat and risk associated with food waste in educational programs and advertising strategies. The inclusion of favorable perceptions becomes more effective specifically in case of socially proscribed behaviors that is food waste behaviors.

The Moderating Effect of Institutional Environment on Oilseed Export Competitiveness in Sub-Saharan African Countries

Abstract

­

Oilseeds contribute a significant amount to Sub-Saharan African countries’ agricultural products, produced for oil and protein, next to cereals and pulses. The region has a comparative advantage of producing and exporting different types of oilseeds, to serve the increasing demand worldwide. However, these countries experience very low performance in the international market. As a result, it becomes an important area of concern and intervention for the policymakers in these respective countries. There have been various researches done to explore the basic causes of export inefficiencies. Some of the study findings have been complementing, while others are contrasting and many of the researches do not acknowledge the internal and external factors that determine the region’s agricultural commodities export competitiveness. Considering relevant panel data in the years 1995 to 2017 and applying the fixed-effect model, the study examines the moderating effect of the institutional environment on the link between factor and demand conditions and the export competitiveness of oilseeds. The result prevails as productivity and export quantity have a significant effect on export competitiveness and the institutional environment significantly moderates their relationship. The study contributes to both theory (competitive advantage, institutional-based view theory) and practice (oilseed industry leaders and policymakers).

Abstract

­

This study aims at exploring the effects of work method autonomy (WMA), decision-making autonomy (DMA), and work scheduling autonomy (WSA) on customer orientation through employees’ affective commitment based on self-determination theory. The data was collected from full time front-line service workers in hospitality industry of China by employing cross-sectional design of study. The results show that three types of autonomy (WMA, DMA, WSA) are positively related with affective commitment and affective commitment has a positive effect on employees’ customer-oriented behavior. The results also postulate that affective commitment mediates the relationship between types of autonomy (WMA, DMA, WSA) and employees’ customer-oriented behavior. The study suggests that hospitality managers should shape such an environment in which they can provide employees with autonomy in choosing methods, schedules and making decisions so that they can experience affective commitment and get motivate to exhibit customer-oriented behaviors.

Abstract

This study empirically investigates the applicability of the push-pull-mooring (PPM) framework on restaurant switching intentions. The employed framework is the theoretical extension of the current PPM Model, which is uncommon in the literature. The antecedents of this research are push variables (satiation with food, satiation with service, satiation with atmosphere); pull (post dining regret, alternative attractiveness); the moderating variables are mooring (self-control, place attachment, OSL). The study uses Chinese restaurants market, which is highly competitive and diverse in terms product offerings and quality customer services in complex environment. The study employed variance based Structural Equation modeling with Partial Least Square estimators. The results show that push, pull and mooring variables have positive significant impact on restaurant switching intentions. It is also evident with statistical analysis that pull factors more favorably contributed as compared to push factors. The findings also reflect that mooring variable significantly moderates between push factors and restaurant switching intentions and pull factors and restaurant switching intentions. The findings are robust to the policy implications.

Abstract

­

The purpose of the study was to explore challenges affecting the growth of women entrepreneurs in the micro finance sector. This was necessitated by the importance of growth of women entrepreneurs to economic development of countries.  An exploration research design was adopted for this study. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire and interviews from 200 female entrepreneurs in the micro finance sector in Harare. The results showed that the social factors such as too many family responsibilities, segregation in terms of accessing capital resources and gender stereo typing were negatively affecting the growth and success of women owned micro-finance institutions. The study noted that business environment factors such as hyperinflation, weak currency, low demand for loans due to poverty, and unemployment and unpredictable policies were negatively affecting the growth of women owned micro finance institutions. The study also noted that regulations from the Central Bank on the operations, registration and licensing of micro-finance had not significantly affected the growth of women owned micro-finance institutions in Harare. The main limitations of the study are that the findings may not be generalized to all female owned entrepreneurs in Zimbabwe because the sample was drawn from Harare so they may be a need to make use of a larger sample. The findings of this study are of value to the operations and successful growth of women owned financial sector, Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, the government of Zimbabwe and the women in general. Identification of the challenges will shape and inform all future intervention policies and programs to support the growth of women owned micro-finance sector in Zimbabwe. In addition, the growth of women entrepreneurs will reduce poverty among women, promote economic empowerment and lead to gender equality. The findings of this study are based on the data collected from women who own and operate micro-finance institution in Harare and hence the challenges identified are original and true. This implies that addressing the challenges identified in this study will lead to growth and success of women owned micro-finance institutions.

Abstract

The object of this study is to analysis the effect of technology on the food industrial production: A case study of Brazil. The Brazilian food and beverage industry has great social and economic importance to the nation and technology represents a key factor for competitiveness in the sector. Learning about the past and recent technological dynamics of this industry enables the identification of trends and perspectives that enhance its competitiveness. The range of data use for estimation is from 1980 to 2018. The analysis is based on econometric techniques. First of all this study applied The ADF (Augmented Dickey Fuller 1979) test to verify the stationary values of the variables, Johnson co-integration technique to check the long run relationship among the variables, VECM to check the significant values of the variables. This study concluded that the technology has positive effect on the food industrial production. . The new technology within the sector has been integrated rather than created. Enterprise investment in R&D is still low and the sector’s technology strategy is mostly imitative. However, this period presented positive effect of technological efforts, with the primary goal of increasing productive efficiency and effectiveness This study suggests that the government to subsidies the food industries that it can easily get approach to technology and revises food export restriction policy.

Transfer learning and deep learning approaches have been utilised in several real-world applications and hierarchical systems for pattern recognition and classification tasks. However, in few of the real-world machine learning situations, this presumption does not sustain since there are instances where training data is costly or tough to gather and there is continually a necessity to produce high-performance learners competent with more easily attained data from diverse fields. The objective of this review is to determine more abstract qualities at the greater levels of the representation, by utilising deep learning to detach the variables in the outcomes, formally outline transfer learning, provide information on present solutions, and appraise applications employed in diverse facets of transfer learning and deep learning. This can be attained by rigorous literature exploration and discussion on all presently accessible techniques and prospective research studies on transfer learning solutions of independent as well as big data scale. The conclusions of this study could be an effectual platform directed at prospective directions for devising new deep learning patterns for different applications and dealing with the challenges concerned.

Abstract

This study examined the potential mediating role of innovation capacity of firm measured by innovation investment in between the relationships of corporate governance and firm performance. The study used panel data of 11,634 samples of Chinese listed firms covering from 2010-2018. We operationalized corporate governance into board independence, dual leadership, concentrated ownership, debt finance, and product market competition.  The study found to support the mediation role of innovation investment in between most corporate governance mechanisms and firm performance measured by Tobin’s Q. Specifically, we found that innovation investment has been fully mediated the relationship between concentrated ownership structure and firm performance, Similarly, corporate governance measured by debt financing, and product market competition were partially mediated by innovation investment in Chinese listed firms. The study makes an important contribution to corporate governance practice in emerging economies policymakers and managers by providing comprehensive empirical evidence on how corporate governance practices are related to firm performance through innovation activities. Firms in emerging countries should maintain high ownership concentration, improve the debt financing system and encourage product market competition to improve firm performance through innovation activities.

Abstract

­Feature selection is a strategy for preprocessing that determines the main features of a specific problem. Traditionally, it has been employed across a variety of topics, including biological data analysis, finance, and intrusion detection systems. In addition to minimizing dimensionality, FS was successfully used in medical systems, which often enable one to consider the causes of the disease. In this paper, a review started to describe some basic concepts related to medical applications and provide some necessary background information on feature selection and reviewed more than ten articles of the FS in the medical field that have been introduced and published in the last years.

Abstract

­

The Reinforcement learning (RL) algorithms solve a wide range of problems we faced. The topic of RL has achieved a new, complete standard of public opinion. High difficulty in large-scale real-world implementations is the effective use of large data sets previously obtained in augmented learning algorithms. Q-learning (QL), by learning a conservative Q function that allows a policy to be below the predicted value of the Q function, is introduced by us, which aims to circumvent these restrictions. We revealed technical reinforcement learning in this study. In principle, we demonstrate that QL creates a lower relation to current policy importance and that this can be correlated with guarantees of political learning theoretical change. In reality, QL strengthens the benchmark objective with a simple, standardized Q value which, in addition to existing Q-learning and essential applications, is quickly applied. The findings indicate that all algorithms are needed to learn how to play successfully. In comparison, all dual Q-learning variables have a significantly higher score compared with Q-learning, and the incremental reward function shows no improved effects than the normal reward function. We present an attack mechanism that uses the portability of competing tests to execute policy incentives and to prove their usefulness and consequences by means of a pilot study of a play learning scenario.

Abstract

­

Why an acquiring firm chooses a target over others is a question yet not investigated well. Using a multi-dimensional temporal focus framework and upper echelon theory, we proposed that a firm’s choice for diversifying or focused acquisition is predicted by the CEO’s temporal focus. Furthermore, this link is contingent on corporate governance (compensation). The result from the analysis of 302 M&A deals from semiconductor and pharmaceutical industries revealed that CEOs with high future/present focus are more likely to make a diversifying acquisition than focus acquisition, while present-focused CEOs are more likely to make a focused acquisition over diversifying takeover. With a high stock option, future-focused CEOs will be more eager to make diversifying acquisitions, while past-focused CEOs’ likelihood of making a focused acquisition is reduced. Also, with high stock ownership, the interest of future and present-focused CEOs for diversifying takeover will reduce, while CEOs with high past focus will more tend to make a focused acquisition.

Abstract

­

Lung cancer is a sort of dangerous cancer and difficult to detect. It usually causes death for both gender men & women therefore, so it is more necessary for care to immediately & correctly examine nodules. Accordingly, several techniques have been implemented to detect lung cancer in the early stages. In this paper a comparative analysis of different techniques based on machine learning for detection lung cancer have been presented. There have been too many methods developed in recent years to diagnose lung cancer, most of them utilizing CT scan images and some of them using x-ray images. In addition, multiple classifier methods are paired with numerous segmentation algorithms to use image recognition to identify lung cancer nodules. From this study it has been found that CT scan images are more suitable to have the accurate results. Therefore, mostly CT scan images are used for detection of cancer. Also, marker-controlled watershed segmentation provides more accurate results than other segmentation techniques. In Addition, the results that obtained from the methods based deep learning techniques achieved higher accuracy than the methods that have been implemented using classical machine learning techniques.

Abstract

­The billions of databases, worldwide, provide an increasing amount of information to the people. As a result, the researchers have to seek knowledge about the resources, which were generically known as the search engines. One such search technique that is popularly used is the semantic search technique which improves the search accuracy by determining the purpose of the search along with the contextual meaning of the terms which appeared in the data space or the web for generating accurate results. Many search engines exist today, which makes it difficult to collect useful data. In this paper, many types of research depended which prepared to describe the Semantic Search and Semantic Web techniques. Various types of semantic search engines are investigated and the differences between the Semantic Search and Semantic Search keywords are determined. Additionally, the benefits of using Semantic Search were highlighted. The literature review and the findings of the case study helped in understanding the new constructs. These researches also determined the relationship between the new and the previously existing constructs based on their perspective regarding the extension of Bedny’s activity theory with regards to the SEO promotion techniques. They added the functional consequences of extending Bedny’s activity theory faced by the promotion managers. The researchers have summarised the history of semantic search and its global position in search engine generation. The researchers also highlighted the role played by the search engines in the semantic search and smart web technologies.

This current period of audit internal government require to be more competence, clear, responsibility, and other with the aim to provide good service on public sector. And also Internal auditor of BPKP must uphold the ethical standard in running their duties and responsibilities. Thereafter, the purpose of this research is to examine the effects of competence and motivation on audit quality with ethical orientation as a moderating variable in BPKP (Badan Pengawasan Keuangan dan Pembangunan), North Sulawesi. The analysis technique is used descriptive analysis, classic assumption tests and hypothesis test, and with total respondent of questionaries’ are 65 auditors of BPKP and the data analysis technique was multiple linear regression analysis.  Hence, the result of this study found that the competence and motivation has significant positive effect on audit quality, the competence with ethical orientation as a moderating variable has a significant positive effect on audit quality, and the motivation with ethical orientation as a moderating variable has significant positive effect on audit quality.

Abstract

­Cloud machine architectures face many drawbacks due to the improved autonomous and distributed IoT configuration. The IoT is closer to the cloud infrastructure. The fog offers IoT data care and storage locally on IoT devices rather than in the cloud. The fog provides quicker responses and better performance in relation to the cloud. The best alternative for IoT to provide powerful and effective resources for many IoT customers may therefore be called Fog Computing. This paper aims at fog computing’s state-of-the-art and alignment with IoT in detailing the advantages and challenges of implementation. This study will concentrate also on the conception of cloud and fog technology and the application of the cloud and fog paradigm to improve modern IoT technologies. Finally, open issues and alternative research directions are discussed on fog estimation and IoT.

The key objective in this paper is to examine the foreign aid impact on corruption in East Africa Community Member countries. The paper employed Pooled Ordinary Least Square (Pooled OLS), Random Effect (RE) and Fixed Effect (FE) approach to find out the external aid effects on corruption. The study used panel data covering from the year from 1996 to 2017 for 5 EAC member nations. The study findings revealed that foreign aid flow has reduced impact on the level of corruption in EAC nations. Based on the findings which found that aid flows reduce the level of corruption in EAC member countries, it is suggested that cooperation between donor countries should be strengthen when allocate aid and through attaching conditions among other things which help to improve governance and institutional framework. In addition, the allocation of aid to the poor countries should be based on selective approach in such way that major conditions for a nation to meet the requirements for aid should be institutional quality reforms.

Contemporary organizations need a workforce who can work more enthusiastically to compete in the market. This study synthesizes leadership paradigms for the purpose of exploring possible ways of influencing organizational citizenship behaviors to increase the functioning of organizations. Further, we test for the underlying mechanisms, psychological contract fulfilment between leadership style and employees organizational citizenship behaviors. In addition, we examined for the moderating role of trust in leader between leadership style and organizational citizenship behaviors. Collecting data from 436 employees from the agriculture sector organizations in Morocco, we found that abusive leadership has a negative relationships with organizational citizenship behaviors. Using SPSS and AMOS as a statistical tools, our findings further confirms the mediating roles of psychological contract fulfilment between the relationship of abusive supervision and employees organizational citizenship behaviors. Furthermore, the results of the current study also suggests an important role of trust in leader as a boundary specificity of the relationship between abusive supervision and organizational citizenship behaviors. At the end, this research presents several important implications, which truly enrich our understanding regarding abusive supervision and employees organizational citizenship behaviors.

Abstract

The technological development has been experiencing rapid growth in the recent years. Individuals need access to required data and information more readily than ever before. To consider this need, the resource development and management are prioritized by the digital world entrepreneurs. In order to provide quick access to the individuals and provide necessary support are fundamentally important for the users. In the present aspects of the digital world, the concept of distributed database, grid system, and cloud systems have completely replaced the need for independent databases. Because of the increasing need and requirements of the computer power and capacity, digital world has been adopting different strategic concerns in order to promote and interconnect dispersedly reserved databases. The concept of distributed database provides the solution for the growing need for addressing the vital aspects of the data management and provision of the access to the required data. This article analyses the concept of database management system, considering relevant review of literature, systematic analysis, investigating the rules for distributed database management system DDBMS, finding appropriate architecture for the DDBMS solutions and providing justified recommendations based on the users’ need and perception.

Abstract

­

The aim of this conceptual paper is to analyze and evaluate the important impetuses for consumers to use social media platforms. The study has made use of a conceptual model for elucidating the motivations for social media usage and what implications they have for contemporary businesses as they plan for the social media marketing strategies. An attempt has been made to come up with an effective platform where contemporary businesses would be able to design digital marketing strategies for taking advantage of social media as well as the unique ability offered by social media of generating one on one consumer relationship, targeting and engagement. For this purpose, 4C’s model (Connecting, Creating, Consuming, and Controlling) has been employed in order to put forward six major propositions pertaining to the different aspects in which motivations of consumers are driving them towards accomplishing their social media goals. Moreover, contemporary business scenarios have been utilized for validating all propositions. Further, these precise propositions intend to provide tools and insights for social media marketing managers of contemporary businesses as they evolve in and figure out the specific strategies to connect with their potential as well as existing consumers.

Abstract

­

Due to the need to maintain confidentiality, redundancy, and openness, the usage of Blockchain and other DLTs has dramatically advanced in recent years, and is being recommended for various applications. In blockchain, these capabilities are supplied by means of hash functions and public-key encryption. However, the rapid development of quantum computation in the near future has opened the door to the Grover and Shor algorithms. These algorithms challenge both public and hash encryption, causing blockchains to redesign and use quantum attack-tolerant cryptosystems; this produces cryptosystems which are considered post-quantum cryptosystems, which are quantum-resistant. This paper reviews current scientists on quantum blockchain for such purposes. In addition, the major challenges are studied with the most important post-quantum blockchain systems. In addition, the most promising post quantum signature encryption and digital blockchain signature schemes are detailed in terms of the functionality and durability of the most promising public signatures. In this article, researchers and developers in blockchain have an extensive perspective and practical advice on post-quantum blockchain protection.

The principle of linking intelligent device to the internet is taken out in the internet of things. This model facilitates the relation across the Cloud between the intellectual real items and the separate contact parties, such as the servers, the cellular devices. Internet of things is entering in all aspects of life including home, industries, medical care, cars, sensors, but the main and very important open challenges in this area is security issues. IoT security is very weak this is due to heterogeneous devices used in this field. Therefore, the expansion of security weak points will bring serious dangers to users’ security, and property. This paper discuss the security aspects in the IoT communication protocols and Security threats of multiple layers dependent on the security concepts of data confidently, data integrity and privacy, it also discusses and investigates the main IoT protocols that used to communicate between IoT based nodes and sensors. Furthermore, vulnerability in different protocols are reviewed and compared.

With the coming of fast advancements, with the assistance of IoT, a great percentage of heterogeneous devices can be connected with each other. The technology with the relationship of different devices through the internet is named the internet of things (IoT), makes a wide number of different characteristics and qualities of data. IoT and Machine learning (ML) guarantees the widespread advancement to grow the insights of the IoT devices and applications. Over the final few years, artificial intelligence and machine learning have advanced very significantly. It allows a machine or system to learn more effectively than people learn on their own. When we learn some kind of system about the concept of our trial or the knowledge obtained after evaluating it. Combining IoT with rapidly advancing ML technologies can make ‘smart machines’ that mimic smart action to do well-informed resolve with little or no human involvement. There are at least two fundamental reasons, why machine learning is a suitable solution for the IoT world? The primary has got to do with the volume of data and the automation openings. The second is related to the prescient investigation. Therefore, this paper focuses on ML in different techniques and different domains that motivate and support IoT applications. Many previous works related to this subject and examples have been addressed, explained in detail. The results showed that ML plays a vital role in monitoring, processing, systematic investigation, and smart use of the expansive measure of data in several fields. It was also beneficial for helping users’ process massive data.

Abstract

As the number of cars is growing, there is also a rapid growth in the number of road side accident. Much of these incidents have occurred by an error made by a driver. New protocols and architecture are rapidly being created for intelligent transport networks by researchers all over the world. To guarantee passengers’ safety, several companies are now encouraging an ad hoc vehicular network (VANET). In another side, before practically adopting VANET technology, there are many concerns related to this field that need to be discussed. A number of attacks can occur in the event of no or weak protection, which can be affected by the performance and reliability of the process. In order to make VANET networks more successful, it implements software defined networking (SDN) technology. This technique was briefly called SDN-VANET. The SDN in VANET framework enables us to prevent from the limitations and complexities of basic VANET structures. Through handling the whole network from a single remote controller, it allows them to reduce the overall burden on the network. In this article we describe SDN-based VANET, its working, benefits, challenges and services, applications, and security attacks.

Abstract

Blockchain technology has lately become widely regarded, partially because of the surge in cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and their ability to be a force for economic and financial shift. While tokenomics also helped push blockchain in mainstream, this technology’s strengths are far more than crypt-monetary. Often known as distributed leader technologies, it is hypothesized that blockchain would serve like a catalyst for global disruptions and that blockchain-based applications in many industries such as the supply chain; the medical and legal fields are now being developed and implemented. By simultaneous research, we prove that the six confirms convention is vulnerable to peer-to-peer latency in the network and show just how readily PoW mining is broken. The divergences between these latest blocks open the transactions in question to the possibility that the blockchain fork will not be used. We concentrate on evaluating block detection accuracy and the breach of the six confirmed blockchain agreement.

The IoT systems and connectivity provide improved experience and improve the quality of service for the users in different perspectives. Recent development of the technological prospects and management of the sufficient aspects for the delivery of performance need to be ensured in this regard. The concept of IoT is related with the widely connected features, systems, data storage facilities, management processes, applications, devices, users, gateways, services and thousands of other elements. As the importance of IoT applications has been growing in recent times, the prospects for development and management are immense for the development opportunities. In recent times, cybersecurity and ensuring privacy for the users have attracted attention of the users. With growing popularity of the social media platforms, more and more people are becoming connected. With growing opportunity of connectivity, people need more secured space to connect. In this article, different aspects of the cybersecurity based on the deep learning models and analyzing the concepts of machine learning, understanding the concept of security and privacy, contributing to the development and management of cybersecurity etc. To demonstrate the understanding of cybersecurity in the IoT networks, effective deep learning models such as MLP, CNN, LSTP and a hybrid model of CNN and LSTP have been analyzed. To contribute to the learning process, future research opportunities have also been identified.

It’s possible to explain Edge computing (EC) as a distributed system of IT that decentralized the power of processing in which the mobile Internet of Things (IoT) computing would be allowed. In EC, data processed by local tools, computers, or servers, instead of being process and transmitted from the data center. However, with the wider capabilities of EC by increasing the network performance and reducing the latency, security challenges, and the risks will increase with data being stored and used on these devices on the edge or end of the network. This paper first provides a definition of EC and explain the reasons that led to the rapid spread of this type of computing with an explanation of the most important differences between EC and CC, in terms of the resources available for each type, processing, storage, as well as the privacy and security factor. Later, explaining the uses and benefits of this type of computing. However, the challenges are also taken into consideration, foremost among which is security. Through reviewing a number of previous researches, security challenges have been identified in four main sectors, including data privacy and security, access control, attack mitigation, and detection for anomalies Finally, choosing a set of solutions that were drawn from previous studies and contributed in reducing and limiting these challenges. Hopping this paper sheds light on Edge Computing security and paves the way for more future research.

Abstract

­

Internet of Things and Machine Learning (ML) have wide applicability in many aspects of life, health care is one of them. With the rapid development and improvement of the internet, the conventional strategies for patient services diminished and supplanted with electronic healthcare systems. The use of IoT technology offers medical professionals and patients the most modern medical device environment. IoT things and Machine-Learning are valuable in various classifications from far off observing of the modern climate to mechanical mechanization. Moreover, medical care applications are principally indicating interest in IoT things in view of cost decrease, easy to understand and improve the personal satisfaction of patients. The latest applications for IoT medical treatment, investigated and still facing problems in the clinical environment, are needed for intellectual, creativity-based answers. In specific, portable, and implantable IoT model devices, investigated for calculating the data transmission. Implantable technologies lead to the natural substitution of the injured part of the human body. The creation of a wearable and implantable healthcare body area network faced several challenges that are illustrated in this study. In this paper, an overview of IoT and Machine Learning based on healthcare care demonstrated in detail, the applications that use in health care by incorporating Machine Learning (ML) for the Internet of Things (IoT) listed with all issues and challenges while using this application or devices for health care and their important usage. Also, algorithms used by Machine Learning in IoT for developing devices are indicated by showing previous work and classified each of them according to the used method.

Abstract

­The industry world nowadays requires its workforce to embrace soft skills. This condition demands universities to conduct soft skills development programs. One implementation of the soft skills development program in UPH Surabaya Campus is Live In. Live In combines education and community service aspects, by bringing the participants to live in an underdeveloped village and putting them some programs to organize for three days. The expected result is the enhancement of the following skills: integrity, communication, polite manner, responsibility, social skills, positive attitudes, professionalism, flexibility, cooperation, and work ethics. The research is conducted with a descriptive quantitative method, using a questionnaire instrument and convenience sampling technique. The result analyzed from 44 respondents reveals that the average value of the soft skills enhancement reached 3.12 of 4. This means that participants acknowledged the importance of the program in enhancing their soft skills. Furthermore, there are 3 soft skills which are improved more than others, which are flexibility, responsibility, and social skills.

Abstract

Islamic Micro – finance (IMFc) is an evolving technique to empower the deprived and needy population. The present study was intended to investigate the effect of the IMFc on the resources of individuals borrowing from an Islamic microfinance institution and their poverty status. The prime intention of this paper is to justify the effect of IFMc for poverty alleviation. The study reveals that IMFc programs have introduced a positive result on significant numbers of poor. Islamic microfinance has significant impacts on income, savings and expenditure levels of the household. The analysis shows that in general, the Islamic micro finance is an instrument that can help to accumulate savings and income and finally assist to alleviate their poverty. But still it is not only the instrument that can alleviate poverty but it is the vital component that can help to the poor people for standard living levels. Our analysis shows that after taking Islamic finance there is a significant change in the respondents’ income savings and expenditures.

Abstract

­

Medical text classification has a significant impact on disease diagnosis, medical research, and the automatic development of disease ontology, acquiring knowledge of clinical results recorded in the medical literature. Hence, medical text classification is challenging because it contains terminologies that describe medical concepts and terminologies. Furthermore, the medical data mostly does not follow natural language grammar; it has inadequate grammatical sentences. The techniques used for text classification give different results comparing to medical text classifications, as extracting text and training sets are different. One of the most significant text classification models in general and medical text classification specifically is CNN-based models. In this paper, many papers on medical text classification have been reviewed, and the details of each article, such as algorithms, or approaches used, databases, classification techniques, and outcomes obtained, are evaluated and outlined thoroughly. Besides, discussions were carried out on all the studied papers, which profoundly influenced medical documents classification.

­With the advancement of technology and the increasing demand on smart systems and smart applications that provide a quality-of-life improvement, there has been a surge in the demand of more conscious applications, Machine Learning (ML) is considered one of the driving forces behind implementing these types of applications, and one of its implementations is Speaker Identification (SID). Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) and also Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) are two main types of Deep Learning that are being used in the implementation of such applications. Speaker Identification is being utilized more and more on daily basis and is being focused on by the research community as a result of this demand. In this paper, a review will be conducted to some of the most recent researches that were conducted in this area and compare their results while discussing their outcomes.

Abstract

­In the last few decades, there has been considerable amount of research on the use of Machine Learning (ML) for speech recognition based on Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). These studies are generally focused on using CNN for applications related to speech recognition. Additionally, various works are discussed that are based on deep learning since its emergence in the speech recognition applications. Comparing to other approaches, the approaches based on deep learning are showing rather interesting outcomes in several applications including speech recognition, and therefore, it attracts a lot of researches and studies. In this paper, a review is presented on the developments that occurred in this field while also discussing the current researches that are being based on the topic currently.

Abstract

­Machine Learning is a significant technique to realize Artificial Intelligence. The Random Forest Algorithm can be considered as one of the Machine Learning’s representative algorithm, which is known for its simplicity and effectiveness. It is also can be defined as a Decision Tree-Based Classifier that chooses the best classification tree as the final classifier’s classification of the algorithm via voting. Random Forest is the most accepted group classification technique because of having excellent features such as Variable Importance Measure, Out-of-bag error, Proximities, etc. Currently, it is in the new classification, intrusion detection, content information filtering, and sentiment analysis that is why there is an extensive range of applications in image processing. In this paper, the construction process of Random Forests and the study status of Random Forests would primarily be introduced in terms of capacity enhancement and performance indicators. The use of Random Forest in different fields such as Medicine, Agriculture, Astronomy, etc. is often mentioned.

Abstract

­Face recognition is increasingly being used for solving various social-problems such as personal protection and authentication. As with other widely used biometric applications, facial recognition is a biometric instrument such as iris recognition, vein pattern recognition, and fingerprint recognition. Facial recognition identifies a person based on certain aspects of his physiology. Deep Learning (DL) is a branch of machine learning (ML) that can be used in image processing and pattern recognition to solve multiple problems, one of the applications is face recognition. With the advancement of deep learning, Convolution Neural Network (CNN) based facial recognition technology has been the dominant approach adopted in the field of face recognition. The purpose of this paper is to provide a review of face recognition approaches. Furthermore, the details of each paper, such as used datasets, algorithms, architecture, and achieved results are summarized and analyzed comprehensively.

Abstract

­One of the most significant subjects of society is human healthcare. It is looking for the best one and robust disease diagnosis to get the care they need as soon as possible. Other fields, such as statistics and computer science, are needed for the health aspect of searching since this recognition is often complicated. The task of following new approaches is challenging these disciplines, moving beyond the conventional ones. The actual number of new techniques makes it possible to provide a broad overview that avoids particular aspects. To this end, we suggest a systematic analysis of human diseases related to machine learning. This research concentrates on existing techniques related to machine learning growth applied to the diagnosis of human illnesses in the medical field to discover exciting trends, make unimportant predictions, and help decision-making. This paper analyzes unique machine learning algorithms used for healthcare applications to create adequate decision support. This paper intends to reduce the research gap in creating a realistic decision support system for medical applications.

Abstract

­Quality of Service (QoS) is a significant concept in distributed systems. Therefore, several studies within QoS for distributed systems have been researched over the past years. It is very difficult to deliver an appropriate QoS level for frameworks running in different open resource environments, including the Internet. A distributed system’s QoS characteristics are affected by the QoS of the specific hosts involved, and the QoS of the networking subsystem linking these hosts. This paper reviews the state-of-the-art of distributed systems evolution in QoS architecture. In the context of distributed systems, the method adopted is to address QoS terms and a generalized QoS system for identifying and explaining QoS.

Abstract

­Resource allocation in a distributed system is the process of allocating the workload across multiple resources to optimize the required performance criteria. Different techniques are used to manage resource allocation in such distributed systems. The resource allocation for distributed systems such as cloud computing, cellular network, Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Radar Imaging and 5G Networks are used. In this paper many resource allocation algorithms in different environment and area that mentioned before are reviewed, compared and summarized. for instance, Cloud-based computation algorithm implementations in cloud computing, Direction Method of Multipliers (ADMM) algorithm for SDN Networking, FFR algorithm application in cellular network, Fairness-based Distributed Resource Allocation (FDRA) algorithm for 5G networks, then each the results in each area are discussed in critique point of view.

Abstract

­One of the main characteristics of scaling data is complexity. Heterogeneous data contributes to data integration and the process of big data problems. Both of them are essential and difficult to visualize and interpret large-scale databases since they require considerable data processing and storage capacity. The data age, where data grows exponentially, is a significant struggle to extract data in a manner that the human mind can grasp. This paper reviews and provides data visualization and the Heterogeneous Distributed Storage description and their challenges using different methods through some previous researches. Besides, the results of reviewed research works are compared, and the fundamental shift in the world of large data visualization of virtual reality is discussed.

Abstract

­Coupled with resource retrained system and devices, Internet of things network requires effective utilization of Fog Computing system. With increasing demand and requirements for enhancing the performance, fog computing scenario requires increased output, less latency, greater performance etc. This review takes the concept of fog computing one step further by reviewing available literature on the components of fog computing to determine the effective outcomes for different settings and management of the network consideration. Contributing to the development appropriate settings and management of the cloud based support, necessary analysis has been carried out in this review. Systematic analysis on the development of fog computing such as system model has been analyzed. To review the prospects and development of fog computing, necessary relationships have been established such as fog computing, fog – cloud computing and fog – fog computing. Based on the learning of the research, future direction for the research has been suggested as well.
