Abstract
Developments in electronic banking technology, especially in the area of online banking, have opened up new avenues for managing routine banking activities. Worldwide, the use of online banking services is growing at a very quick pace, including in underdeveloped countries like Bangladesh. Using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), this study examines how consumer acceptability of online banking is determined. Specifically, it examines how perceived trust, perceived usability, perceived risk and perceived utility relate to users’ behavioural intention to use online banking. A straightforward judgmental selection procedure was used to pick a sample of 181 respondents from the Chittagong region for the study. A systematic questionnaire and in-person interviews were used to collect the data. Pearson correlation, Regression analysis and factor analysis were used to look at the relationship between the variables and test the hypothesis. The findings showed that customers’ intentions to use online banking in Bangladesh are significantly impacted by perceived trust and perceived ease of use. Perceived usefulness and perceived risk were found to be insignificantly influence the customers’ intentions to use online banking services.
